Life-Long Companions

At Carolina Canines For Service, we do more than train service dogs. We help people live more independent lives. We are dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and an enhanced quality of life through the services of specially trained dogs. Since 1996, we have provided more than $3 million in services up and down the east coast.

Carolina Canines for Service trains service dogs for people with limited mobility. Based upon the specific needs of the recipient, we match them with the optimal service dog type.

A service dog is a dog individually trained to perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability. Service dogs perform a wide variety of tasks, which enable individuals to experience increased independence and enhanced quality of life.

Service dogs trained through CCFS are able to perform a wide array of everyday tasks for their partners. Depending on the type of training, our dogs can:

  • Turn on lights and open doors
  • Provide balance and stability
  • Provide assistance with dressing and undressing
  • Assist in making the bed and doing laundry
  • Provide physical support for transfers to and from a wheelchair
  • Act as a source of unconditional love and companionship
